Cathryn is a storytelling pro, with significant experience in broadcast and online journalism and also working with local to international organizations on their branding, communciations and marketing.
Cathryn, whose roots are in Oregon and Michigan, has worked as an award-winning broadcast journalist, founded the popular blog Oceanwire, and co-wrote three non-fiction books published by Random House and Viking Penguin. She speaks fluent French and Fulfulde, and has some proficiency in Spanish.
She served more than two years as a rural development and sustainability specialist in the Peace Corps in Niger, West Africa, where her cozy straw hut became somewhat sinister when a spitting cobra took up residence there one rainy season.
Cathryn earned degrees from Smith College, Yale School of the Environment and Paris' Sciences-Po.
